Library Board of Directors

   Susan McBeth became the Nevada Public Library Director in the year 2000 after 20 years experience in the not-for-profit world. Susan was the Executive Director of The National Conference for Community and Justice, a nation-wide human relations organization with 60 regional offices and headquarters in New York.
   As Executive Director of NCCJ, Susan had experience working with a large board of directors both in Omaha and Kansas City. She wrote grants, raised and managed a $400,000 budget, developed and conducted educational seminars and did public speaking throughout the United States on behalf of NCCJ.
   Before directing NCCJ, Susan was a public relations writer and fund development officer for Father Flanagan’s Boys Home (Boys Town) in Omaha. Her first year at the Nevada Public Library, she wrote and received a grant from the Gates Foundation for $46,000 for public access computers. She has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri in English Literature and is married to Judge Jerry McBeth of Nevada.
